Traditionally Medicare Part D excluded drugs used solely for weight loss. However, GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound may be covered when medically necessary for a qualifying condition such as Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease with obesity, or obstructive sleep apnea with obesity.
